The vehicle has a front wall separating an engine compartment (1) from a passenger compartment (2). A heat source (4) e.g. internal combustion engine, is arranged in the compartment. An inlet port (5) is provided in an engine bonnet (11) in a middle area before a windscreen (10). The bonnet limits the compartment on the top side. The heat source is isolated, where the ambient air entering through the port is guided to a lateral discharge opening (8) over the source during driving. The opening is formed within an area of an A-column (9) of a motor vehicle body.
