The food heating unit includes a heating element (7) arranged in the interior. A housing (4) defining the interior is provided an openable and closable cover element for opening or closing the housing, where the housing adjacent to the interior is partially encased with an insulation (14). The food heating unit includes a control device (8) with temperature sensors (10, 11) and is partially coupled with on-board electronics and/or on-board supply.
