The machine has a rotary drivable grinder (11) partially surrounded by a grinder case (15). A movable binder (25) is provided at a transverse edge lying at front side of the case in a milling direction. The binder runs around the grinder in a concentric orbit, where the binder is formed in an arc shape. An arc-center point of the binder lies on a center rotary axis of the grinder. Radius of the binder at a milling opening is larger than maximum radius of the grinder at top of a chipper that is arranged at an outer area of a cylindrical lateral area of the grinder.
