The device (10) has a conveying device (12), where a pressurizing medium is supplied to spring struts (18, 20) over a circuit (16) with the aid of the conveying device. An auxiliary circuit (32) is provided, where the pressurizing medium is inducible with a pressure in the auxiliary circuit that is smaller than a pressure prevailing in the circuit (16). The auxiliary circuit has a locking device (34) i.e. two-way poppet valve, that is transferable into a locking position that inhibits the flow of the pressurizing medium in the auxiliary circuit. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a pressurizing device.
