The method involves detecting measured values of a measuring variable e.g. number of revolutions of a wheel, depending upon vibration characteristics of a tire. A vibration condition of the tire is characterized based on a signal processing process for the characterization of the vibration characteristics of the tire. The vibration condition of the tire is enclosed to a high or complete air pressure waste in the tire, if the vibration characteristics are detected in the determined vibration condition characterization for the high or complete air pressure waste.
