The coupling device has a friction lining (30) of a clutch plate between a flywheel and a pressure plate (40). The pressure plate has a concave curvature in cross-section and the friction lining has a convex curvature in cross-section at the side facing the pressure plate. The radius of curvature of the concave curvature of the pressure plate is smaller than the radius of curvature of the convex curvature of the friction lining.
