The device (1) has a movable lever arm (5) mechanically connected with weights of a weight magazine (2). The magazine includes a plate (8) curved around a longitudinal axis, where the plate is elastically fastened at an upper edge (9) and a lower edge (9'). The plate is made of single-pane safety glass or steel plate, and is arranged between poles (10, 10') of the magazine, where each pole includes an oval cross section. Oval cross beams (12) are arranged between the poles. An oval pipe (11) has a flange at an end. A soft material e.g. rubber, is arranged between the plate and a U-shaped jaw. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a skeletal muscle strengthening and training device.
