The device has a power section for switching on/off of glow plugs (4a-4d). Two bus bar sections comprise an end that is electrically attached to the power section. Another end of one of the bar sections serves as a connection, which is to be attached to a battery (3). Another end of the other bar section serves as a connection, which is to be attached to the glow plugs. A housing has a heat radiation element for radiating heat produced by the power section. The housing protects the bar sections, and the power section is fixed at the housing. The housing is filled with gel or resin.
