The release unit has a piston (3) axially adjustable opposite to a housing (2), and a clutch release bearing (5) comprising rolling members (5.3) i.e. ball, fastened between inner and outer rings (5.1, 5.2) of the piston. A magnet sensor (9) detects the position of the piston at the housing and is operated by an axially movable magnet element (M). A gasket (8) is arranged at a radially outer lying circumference surface (7) of the outer ring, where the gasket is designed as the magnet element or supports the magnet element.
