The mattress has a spring core (1) comprising a set of springs (2) and exhibits different spring characteristics in zones. Four width-side covering layers (5, 8-10) are provided for covering the spring core and a cover fabric (12), where the width-side covering layers are zoned in the spring core. The layer (9) is made of foam material and consists of plastics which are different in elastic characteristics. The layer (8) is made of spacer knitted fabrics formed as a net, where the fabrics are knitted with differently thickness threads and/or different thick arrangement for zoning.
