The method involves supplying an oxygen-containing recycling fraction lower area of a separating column (21) and introducing a cooled auxiliary air flow (11) into a lower area of a wash column (70). A liquid return stream (71) is delivered to the wash column, which is free from heavy-volatile components. A gas flow (73) is withdrawn from an upper area of the wash column and is introduced into the separating column. A liquid rinsing stream (72) is withdrawn from the lower area of the wash column. The cooled auxiliary air flow is essentially liquid-free during introduction into the wash column. An independent claim is also included for a device for low-temperature dissection of air.
