The device has a variable turbine or compressor geometry (1) comprising guide vanes (3) supported at a vane bearing ring (2) in a rotatable manner and an adjusting ring (4) for adjusting the vanes. Each vane has a guide vane blade (5), a vane bearing pin and a toothed rim (8) that are connected with one another as a single-piece. The geometry is designed in such a manner that the geometry is assembled and mounted in an axial direction (14). The vanes and the adjusting ring are manufactured in a metal inject moulding process from ceramics, and the bearing ring is designed as rotating part. An independent claim is also included for a method for mounting a charging device.
