The invention relates to an ultra-wide band information transmission method. Said method comprises a first coding step on the send side, in which a pulse group, formed from a predefined number of individual pulses, is coded in accordance with values of a random number sequence and a correlation step on the receive side, in which a receive signal is correlated with a signal pattern. The method is characterised in that the signal pattern corresponds to the entire pulse group that is anticipated when the same values of the random number sequence are used in the coding process.
