The invention relates to food and medical industry, medical cosmetics, dermatology, agriculture and feed production. The invention discloses the use of vicinal dithioglicol of general chemical formula RCH(SH)CH(SH)R1 (1) in food additives, food products, as physiologically active compounds and active ingredients of feed additives and feed, in cosmetic, and/or dermatological and skin compositions. The invention also describes methods for producing such additives, products and remedies . The substance of formula (1) stimulates physiological processes, increases human and animal immunity, inhibits undesirable processes in organisms and food products, produces curative and prophylactic action on skin, hair and nails.
