A surface of a base material which has a substance for detecting a material to be analyzed or a material to be analyzed being fixed thereon and have been formed by the treatment with a fluid containing a non-crosslinked polymer on the basis of a polyethylene glycol chain segment carried out simultaneously with or after the fixation of said substance or the material to be analyzed. The above surface allows the significant inhibition of the non-specific adsorption of a trashy protein and the like having been co-present in a measured sample.
