The fabrication of prototype metal turbine blades with a given theoretical profile is carried out by a lost wax process. A wax model is fabricated by molding in a wax mold and a shell mold is produced around the wax model. The molten metal is cast into the cavity provided in the shell mold, after the elimination of the model. A draft of the wax model is produced by molding in a simplified wax mold, this draft having an over-thickness with respect to the theoretical profile which can then be machined to obtain the prototype.
