Brief description of the management of the mechanical play between the piston and a mechanical member of a yoke of the braking of a wheel of a motor vehicle

The method involves evaluating a hydraulic distance between a hydraulic position occupied by a piston (11) when a mechanical unit i.e. screw (6), attains a reference position and another reference position of the piston. Removal of the screw is controlled relative to a braking pad (4) from the former reference position on a reversing distance equal to the hydraulic distance. The reversing distance is increased from a predetermined distance defining a desired mechanical clearance between the piston and the pad. An independent claim is also included for a system for managing mechanical clearance between a piston and a mechanical unit of a clamping caliper of a braking pad of a wheel for a motor vehicle.
