The seat has locking units with a rotary lever (3), for locking a base (1) in position, with respect to a support and coupled to a backrest (2) such that pivotment of the backrest drives a passage of the units, in an unlocked position. Retardation units comprise a cable (31) that is associated with a spring (32) for retarding the passage in the unlocked position. The retardation units act on the locking units such that the unlocked position is driven by the pivotment of a predetermined minimum angle i.e. 20 degrees, of the backrest from a raised position of the backrest.
