A device (D) is dedicated to decoding a coded control word w'k carried in a control radio channel amount and decoding the value of an acknowledgment variable transmitted in a first downlink radio channel consecutively to decoding data symbol blocks received in a rising data radio channel in a previous time interval (TTIk-1). This device (D) comprises loaded processing means (MT), in the event of reception of a signal rk in the ascending control radio channel in a current time slot (TTIk), i) of estimating the probability a posteriori that this signal rk contains a coded control word w'k representing a control word wk from the value of the acknowledgment variable transmitted in the first descending radio channel following the decoding of blocks in the interval of previous time (TTIk-1), and signals rk and rk-1 received in the respective current (TTlk) and previous (TTIk-1) time slots, and ii) decoding the encoded control word w'k ( represented by the signal rk received) by maximizing the estimated probability.
