Use of soluble cluster of differentiation 40 ligand as marker for biological fluid sample comprising plasma, serum, urine, saliva, cerebrospinal fluid or synovial fluid, when exposed to heat
Use of soluble cluster of differentiation 40 ligand as marker for biological fluid sample comprising plasma, serum, urine, saliva, cerebrospinal fluid or synovial fluid, when exposed to heat
Use of a soluble CD40 ligand (soluble cluster of differentiation (sCD40L)) as a marker for a biological fluid sample when exposed to heat, is claimed. Independent claims are included for: (1) a method for determining the exposure of biological sample to heat comprising: detecting the presence or absence of sCD40L in the biological fluid sample; and evaluating the exposure of the sample to the heat by comparing the result of the detection of the sCD40L obtained by observing the absence of sCD40L, which is a marker of the tested sample that is exposed to heat, where the absence of sCD40L is defined as a concentration of sCD40L below the detection threshold or when the concentration is higher the detection threshold, the concentration of the sCD40L in the sample is below at least 95% to the concentration of the sCD40L in the control sample; and (2) a kit for detection of exposure of biological sample to heat comprising a means of detection of the sCD40L and a means of detection of factor VIII and/or a means of detection of the protein S. ACTIVITY : None given. MECHANISM OF ACTION : Soluble cluster of differentiation 40 ligand.
