The device (1) has bands (32, 33) respectively comprising locking units (3, 4) mounted on a support (2). The locking units permits positioning of an assembly of ligament graft and bands with respect to the support along a longitudinal axis. A tensioning system is associated to the locking unit (4) and displaces the locking unit (4) parallel to the longitudinal axis in a direction away from the locking unit (3) for exerting traction force in the range between 30 and 70 decanewton on the ligament graft. The system is formed by cylindrical rod, compression spring and actuating units.
