The femoral rod (1) has an elongated diaphyseal distal portion (3) to be introduced in a medullary cavity of a femur. A metaphyseal proximal portion (2) and the diaphyseal distal portion are connected by a plane interface zone (4) corresponding to a femur cutting zone. An undulation or zigzag shaped groove (5) or a rib has two parallel sections, which are parallel and adjacent to the interface zone. The groove or the rib forms an undulation perpendicularly oriented to an axis (A) of the diaphyseal distal portion.
