The method involves placing a portable image capturing apparatus (1) e.g. video camera, a configuration in which an observation line (DO) connects a pupil of the apparatus and a preset noteworthy point. The point is horizontal and directly or indirectly associated to a face of a wearer or a frame (10). An image is captured in another configuration of the apparatus such that a height of the apparatus is identical to that of the former configuration. A geometric-physiognomic parameter is calculated by identifying the image from the point.
