The method involves defining functional characteristics to be recorded for a turbocompresser. Values of the characteristics of the turbocompresser are measured by measuring and controlling units. Initial measured values of the characteristics are stored on a physical support i.e. marking, or an electronic support i.e. memory, by the units. The values of the characteristics are measured by the unit after the utilization of the turbocompresser. The initial values stored on the support are read by accessing and reading units. An independent claim is also included for a device for implementing a method for storing functional characteristics of a turbocompresser.
