The device (128) has a rank-one-crosshead (140) movable in translation between a clamping position and a clearance position that allows installation of a conductor against an electrically conducting rail (136). A rank-n-crosshead (142) is movable in translation between the two positions in which the clearance position allows installation of another conductor against the crosshead (140) having a rank n-1. The two crossheads cover two conductors and fixed by clamping of clamping unit e.g. screw (144, 146), respectively in the clamping position.
