Spatial interpolation method for pixel of missing block of image, involves determining weights associated to neighboring pixel based on distance and information representing contour when neighboring pixel belongs to image contour
The method involves determining a pixel of a missing block (2) by an interpolation algorithm applied to neighboring pixels (B) belonging to adjacent pixels (A) of the block. Each neighboring pixel is weighted in the algorithm by weights. Weights associated to the neighboring pixel is determined based on a distance between the pixel to be interpolated and the neighboring pixel when the neighboring pixel does not belong to an image contour (4), and on the distance and information representing contour associated to the neighboring pixel when the neighboring pixel belongs to the contour. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for spatial interpolation of pixels of a missing block in an image, comprising a pixel determination unit (2) an information storage medium readable by a computer or by a microprocessor comprising computer program instructions for implementing a method for spatial interpolation of pixels of a missing block (3) a computer program product loaded in a programmable apparatus, comprising a sequence of instructions for implementing a method for spatial interpolation of pixels of a missing block.
