The method involves controlling a set of infrared lamps (L1-L7) of a ramp (20) of successive heating stations (Px) with constant power in supply duration to obtain temperature gradient along each of the ramps. The lamps are chosen based on emission spectrum to obtain the best absorption by a material constituting a preform (10), where supply power of the lamps of each ramp is identical and corresponds to optimum power of the lamp.
