The system has a monitoring terminal (B) mounted on a payment terminal i.e. pay and display machine, and with a communication unit e.g. high frequency communication unit (M), for detecting presence and movement of a personalized recognition card (P) e.g. macro card, of a motor vehicle (V) in a coverage zone. The communication unit activates an anti-theft unit e.g. alarm, of the vehicle under monitoring in case of detection of non-authorized movement of the vehicle. The card is implanted in a windscreen of the vehicle, and has number of chassis or license plate of the vehicle.
