The method involves recording information in a memory of a radio frequency identification electronic tag (110). The information includes an identification data e.g. International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI), of a physical entity e.g. portable telephone (502), of an owner of the tag, where the information is defined based on the physical entity. The tag is connected with the physical entity, where the tag has an antenna (512) and an electronic chip provided with a secured microcontroller. The antenna and the chip are electrically connected for forming wireless communication units. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an electronic tag comprising a memory for storing information (2) a method for authenticating information stored by an electronic tag (3) a system for authenticating information stored by an electronic tag.
