The plate has a retracting device for retracting the plate from a stack of plates. The retracting device has a rigid tab (1) with a dimension of one centimeter and fixed on a side of each plate in the stack. The rigid tab of each plate is moved away from a rigid tab of another plate in the stack for allowing a user to retract the plate. An independent claim is also included for a method for stacking plates.
