The device (20) has a water reservoir (22) in which microorganisms (24) e.g. dead or mineralized algae, from chlorella family, are placed, where the microorganisms are developed by photobioreaction using a light source (18) by absorbing carbon dioxide and rejecting oxygen. The reservoir has an opening (26) for permitting gaseous exchange between interior and exterior of the reservoir so as to absorb carbon-dioxide from surrounding air, where the opening is placed above the water.
