The helmet has a protective bonnet (5) with an external shell (7) fixed on a part of an external face of a damping cap (6) and notches (14, 15) that are defined on both sides of flexible fins (16). An adjustment element adjusts locking of the bonnet integrated to free ends of the fins, and is activated to adjust a distance separating the free ends by flexion for adopting a head of a user. The element has a distal portion fixed against a proximal portion by automatic hooking units e.g. Velcro(RTM: fabric hook-and-loop fastener) self-clipping strips after passing a ring.
