The estimator has a filtering unit i.e. high-pass filter, conserving high frequency components of a derived angular acceleration signal under the form of a square pulse signal comprising raising pulse edges (10-12) and descending pulse edges (13-15). An adder constructs an estimated acceleration signal by adding an out of phase basic signal corresponding to a positive impulse response (16), respectively negative impulse response (17), of an accelerometer, to each raising pulse edge, respectively each descending pulse edge, to start at the instant of the pulse edges (10-15). An independent claim is also included for a bad positioning indicator of an accelerometer of an engine block.
