The device has thermoelectric elements (6) fixed to temperature exchangers fixed to a catalytic exhaust silencer i.e. hot reservoir, and a cold reservoir, respectively. A control box (12) controls the elements provided with semiconductor materials of different natures, in heat generation and energy recuperation modes (21, 22) based on a silencer temperature. The box is connected to equipments formed of temperature sensor (14), oxygen sensor (15), battery voltage sensor (16) and logic controller (17), that provide information such as oxygen rate, to determine an operating mode of the device.
