The system has a fixation unit (100) for fixing a bar (10) on vertebrae (Vt) of a vertebral column (Cv). The bar is formed of bar sections (11, 12, 13). An associating unit associates the sections, such that the bar is placed in a flexible configuration (Cs) for an association position of the sections, and the bar is placed in a rigid configuration (Cr) for another association position of the sections. A controllable integration unit integrates the bar with a head of each pedicle screw of the fixation unit.
