The system has a chamber (1) for capturing gas in ground, and a gas transferring duct (2) arranged between the chamber and gas leakage control units that are positioned in a surface. The gas leakage control units are adapted to measure parameters such as captured gas flow, and composition of captured gas. A hydrophobic membrane (3) is arranged in the gas transferring duct and permeable to gas. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for monitoring underground zone containing gas (2) a device for studying gas emitted in ground and sub-ground of the underground zone.
