Use of oats ( Avena sativa L.) peptide hydrolysate, as active ingredient able to activate the synthesis of aquaporins, alone or in combination with other active ingredients, and in a cosmetic composition or nutraceutical composition to improve hydration and barrier function of skin, is claimed.
