The device has a protection grid (1) longitudinally extending on a front face (A) of a vehicle while being fixed at a lower part of the grid to a body shell of the vehicle. The grid is made of a composite or plastic material and connected on a rear face of the grid on the shell by one of two absorption elements. The grid is supported by the elements respectively placed at half-height on longitudinal ends (2d) of the grid. The elements are compressed in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle under shock efforts of different values and presented under the form of accordion cases. The protection grid is made of a charged injected plastic, mixture of plastic material and metallic reinforcements, or charge material of vegetable elements e.g. hemp or filler wood.
