The method involves realizing a measurement of quantities associated to an electric actuator (M), where the quantities are supply current (I-M), control voltage (U-M) and a rotation speed (omega-M) of the actuator. A characteristic variable of an extra effort is measured from the quantities, and the variable is stored in a memory for storing consecutive values of the variable. A dynamic change of the variable is calculated from the consecutive values, the change is compared with a threshold. A signal, indicating a detection of the extra effort, is emitted, in case of exceeding the threshold. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for controlling an electric actuator that is used for opening and closing an opening of a motor vehicle (2) a motor vehicle comprising an opening.
