The degassing process useful in a laser welding process for aspirating the gas opposite to a laser source with respect to sheets (1, 2) to be welded without molten metal bath, is claimed. The aspiration delays the closure of a keyhole (6) created in a weld bead. An independent claim is included for a degassing device.
