The device (1) has a brake shoe (14) integrated with a brake heel (15). The brake shoe and the brake heel form an assembly mounted on a roller skate (2) such that the brake shoe is in braking contact with a rolling element (3) i.e. roller, of the roller skate, when a user tilts the roller skate in rear for arriving a lower surface (19) of the brake heel in contact with the ground. A return unit i.e. pull off spring (23), returns the brake shoe and the brake heel in their initial positions, when the brake heel is not rest on the ground.
