The method involves circulating air tapped from the atmosphere in a room e.g. meeting room, to be purified, in a conical recipient (100) for movably driving active liquid mass i.e. water, in which photocatalytic activity particles are dispersed, to create a vortex in the liquid mass, where the particles are formed of coated polymer particles or titanium oxide. The liquid mass is exposed to irradiation by a radiation destructing organic pollutants e.g. bacteria, that are present in the air and are trapped within the liquid mass by impact on the dispersed particles. An independent claim is also included for an air purifying apparatus comprising a ventilating system.
