PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic solvent-degrading microorganism which can efficiently degrade various solvents such as aromatic hydrocarbon-based solvents, ester-based solvents, ketone-based solvents, ether-based solvent and alcoholic solvents with a type of microorganism.;SOLUTION: There is provided a Rhodococcus microorganism selected from Rhodococcus sp.3A(NITE P-456) and Rhodococcus sp.1B(NITE P-455), and a method for degrading the organic solvent comprises contacting the Rhodococcus microorganism with at least one organic solvent selected from the aromatic hydrocarbon-based solvents, the ester-based solvents, the ketone-based solvents, the ether-based solvents and the alcoholic solvents, or a liquid or gas containing the same.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
