PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machining device for machining and connecting a long straight line groove.;SOLUTION: This machining device includes a reciprocating motion device consisting of a slider 1 with a tool 3 and a straight line guide 2 guiding the slider 1. It makes the slider 1 reciprocated along the straight line guide 2, thereby machining the straight line groove by the tool 3 to a workpiece W fixed on a table 4. The machining device includes a tool cut driving means driving the tool 3 to cut in a direction orthogonal to the direction of reciprocating motion of the slider 1, a first driving means moving the table 4 in an X-axis direction, a second driving means moving the table 4 in a Y-axis direction, and a third driving means moving the reciprocating motion device in a Z-axis direction orthogonal to the X and Y-axes. The reciprocating motion device and the table 4 are positioned so that the direction of the reciprocating motion of the slider 1 and the X-axis direction become the same, and by the combination of the reciprocating motion of the slider 1 and the movement of the table 4 in the X-axis direction, the straight line groove longer than the stroke of the tool 3 or the table 4 is machined in the workpiece W.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
