PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silicone microparticles absorbing a large amount of at least one of sebum, and hydrocarbon oils and ester oils both of which are liquid oil, solving various problems caused by sebum such as changes in cosmetic make-up properties, changes in the color of cosmetic material and increased shininess of cosmetic materials and suppressing the greasiness, stickiness and oily film feeling of cosmetic materials containing at least one of liquid oils and to provide a method of producing the same. PSOLUTION: The silicone microparticles includes 100 parts by mass silicone elastomer spherical microparticles having 0.1 to 100 m volume-average particle diameter and 0.5 to 25 parts by mass polyorganosilsesquioxane that coats the surface of the silicone elastomer spherical microparticles, and the silicone elastomer absorbs not less than 30 parts by mass of at least one oily substance selected from the group consisting of sebum, hydrocarbon oils and ester oils per 100 parts by mass of the silicone elastomer. The silicone microparticles can be produced by hydrolyzing and condensing an organotrialkoxysilane in an aqueous medium, in the presence of the silicone elastomer spherical microparticles and an alkaline material, thereby coating the surface of the silicone elastomer spherical microparticles with a polyorganosilsesquioxane.
