PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a coupling force of a bumper stay with a bumper beam by executing artificial age hardening only in one time without deteriorating the characteristic of a bumper system when manufacturing the bumper system by joining a bumper stay material composed of a 6,000-type aluminum alloy extruded material to the bumper beam composed of a 7,000-type aluminum alloy extruded material using tube expansion by electromagnetic forming.;SOLUTION: A longitudinal through-hole is formed at a bumper beam composed of a T1-tempered 7,000-type aluminum alloy extruded material. A tubular bumper stay material composed of a T1-tempered 6,000-type aluminum alloy extruded material is fitted in the through-hole. The tube of the bumper stay material is expanded by the electromagnetic forming so as to be tightly fitted to an inner circumferential surface of the hole, and the bumper stay material is joined to the bumper beam. The obtained bumper system is subjected to the artificial age hardening so that the bumper beam is subjected to the over-aging treatment.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
