PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polylactic acid having uniform quality in a shortened production time, an apparatus for producing the polylactic acid, a method for producing a biodegradable plastic and an apparatus for producing the biodegradable plastic.;SOLUTION: A vegetable-based raw material is sealed in a primary fermentation tank 12 to perform lactic acid fermentation. The fermentation product fermented in the primary fermentation tank 12 is separated into a liquid part and a solid part by a first separation means 13. The liquid part of the fermentation product separated by the first separation means 13 is sealed in a secondary fermentation tank 15 to perform re-fermentation. A re-fermented product prepared from the secondary fermentation tank 15 is separated by a second separation means 16 into a liquid part and a solid part. A dehumidifying means 17 evaporates water from the liquid part of the re-fermented product separated by the second separation means 16 to extract lactic acid.
