PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for deciding quality of resistance welding capable of accurately deciding quality of resistance welding of a workpiece without being influenced by variation of contact resistance between the workpiece and a welding electrode, and also to provide a device for deciding the same. PSOLUTION: The method for deciding the quality of the resistance welding includes: a voltage value detection step (step S1) for detecting a voltage value V to be applied to the welding electrodes 12, 22 of a resistance welding machine 2 when welding the workpiece (battery components 165, 166); a current value detection step (step S1) for detecting a current value I flowing through the welding electrodes 12, 22; a welding resistance value calculating step (step S2) for calculating the welding resistance value Ra based on the voltage value V and the current value I; a welding resistance value correcting step (step S4) for correcting the welding resistance value Ra based on a variation amount R1 of a contact resistance value R1 between the workpiece and the welding electrodes 12, 22 when welding the workpiece; and a welding quality deciding step (step S5-S8) for deciding the welding quality of the workpiece based on the corrected welding resistance value Rb obtained by correcting the welding resistance value Ra.
