PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting Hg(II) ion in a test sample, using a material which emits fluorescence when Hg(II) ion exists in the test sample, and has less influence to heavy metal ion than single-stranded DNA.;SOLUTION: This method for detecting mercury ion includes: acquisition of a solution containing the test sample, a first single-stranded nucleic acid and a second single-stranded nucleic acid; and detection of excimer emission generated by irradiation, by irradiating the acquired solution with excitation light.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
