PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antibacterial and antifungal agent excellent in antibacterial or antifungal property and resin dispersibility, to provide a resin composition comprising the antibacterial antifungal agent, and to provide an antibacterial or antifungal treatment method of a resin composition, using the antibacterial and antifungal agent. PSOLUTION: There are provided an antibacterial antifungal agent containing polypeptide powder comprising a crosslinked polypeptide, the antibacterial antifungal agent whose crosslinked polypeptide is treated by crosslinking treatment with a treating liquid containing an organic compound and/or a metallic salt, a resin composition containing the antibacterial antifungal agent of 0.1-80 wt.%, and an antibacterial or antifungal treatment method having a step of mixing the antibacterial antifungal agent with a resin material to obtain the resin composition.
